Structure and principle:
Electrochemical corrosion is the main form of corrosion in oil and gas extraction. Oil pipelines, downhole casings, tubing, sucker rods, and other downhole tools are in long-term contact with soil, well fluids, natural gas, and formation water (seawater). Different wellbores come into contact with different formations, well fluids, electrolytes, and water contents, resulting in different electrochemical corrosion of the wellbores. The sacrificial anode method of cathodic protection technology is used for electrochemical corrosion prevention of oil pipes, which slows down the electrochemical corrosion of oil pipes and extends their service life. Connect the sacrificial anode of the oil and water well to the tubing, and lower it into the well together with the tubing during operation. The tubing and sacrificial anode are in the same electrolyte environment to form a new macroscopic battery. The negative electrode is the anode of the new battery, while the oil tube becomes the cathode. The cathode current is provided to the oil tube through the electrolyte from the anode body, and the sacrificial anode material is continuously consumed. The lifespan of the oil tube cathode protector consumed becomes the lifespan extension of the oil tube.
